Brown To Be Speaker At Republican Dinner

Congressman Bud Brown, long time Ohio representative and ranking member on two House subcommittees, will speak at a Republican dinner. The event features a 4:30 to 6:30 pm dinner with tickets sold by Richard True. Brown brings Navy service, journalism background, and economics training from Duke and Harvard to his public duties.

Owensville Man Receives Life Term for Murder

Eugene L. Partin, 42, of Owensville, pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the April 13 slaying of his wife Donna, 29. A key deputy testified Partin admitted planning the killing and firing through a door after spotting a man outside. He had faced first degree murder and other charges, but the latter were dropped.

Clermont County seniors featured in Ohio One Million Strong film

Clermont County Senior Services earns a spot among seven outstanding elderly programs in Ohio for the One Million Strong television documentary by WCET Cincinnati. Officials Seek to Enjoin Striking Sewage Workers

County Prosecutor Robert Jones considers seeking a court injunction against 13 of 17 striking employees at four Clermont County sewage plants Union Felicity Amelia Batavia Miami Goshen Stonelick. The strike began August 16 at 4 30 p.m. and lawmakers debate a 5.5 percent pay increase under Ferguson Act while Civil Service placement is pending.

Clermont County Fair Sets Attendance Peak and Board Elections

Attendance at the Clermont County Fair reached a new peak over the weekend. Gate receipts rose 1500 from the prior year. Board members elected included Tom Anstaett and Jerry Trester with incumbents Charles Hetterick and Burdett Mathis retained. terms for multiple others extend to 1974 and 1975. State Rep. Frank H Mayfield attended bidding on the grand champion steer. 96 steers were auctioned totaling 96,630 pounds with an average of 78 cents per pound.
