Clermont County plans to apply for 5 million dollars in Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission funds to build a Medical Social Services Complex near Clermont County Hospital. The project would consolidate social services agencies and clinics now at the old Service Center on SR 222, with a proposal reviewed at the Aug 21 meeting in Portsmouth. Chemical spill does not threaten Burg water supply
A chemical spill at a landfill near Williamsburg last week did not threaten Williamsburg water. Precautionary actions included closing superinter valves at the village reservoir after the incident believed to have occurred Monday Aug. 13. Leachate rose to the cell top and flowed into a drainage ditch toward a creek by Blue SCARE, with Clermont Environmental and NEWCO involved in the project and facing health and liability questions.
