Amelia invites runners to a benefit marathon starting at Amelia grade school at 8:30 a.m. Saturday August 18. The route goes to Clermont County airport and back with 500 to 700 runners and a top wheelchair participant from the nation, registration on race day.

Woman Recreation Director Chosen in Clermont County
Clermont County Commissioners approved the hiring of Mapes, 35, formerly a physical education instructor at Clermont Northeastern High School, to direct the Recreation Commission. Mapes learned of the appointment by The Courier and expressed enthusiasm. She has earned coach of the year honors in 1976 and 1978 and also coached track.
