Burglary and Capture After East Liberty Chase

A daylight burglary at the Maham residence ends in a gunfight with two tramps, one captured at Milford and the other at Batavia. Harry Pate, 18, and Thomas Voroski, 15, face charges as locals describe the dramatic pursuit through East Liberty, Perintown, and Milford with a mob scene and jail transfer. In a decisive game Batavia outplayed New Richmond 16 to 7 to claim the county championship. Batavia pitcher Lloyd fanned 17 and New Richmond hurler Jones was tagged hard. the return in Batavia is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon near the station.

Charley Ulrey killed a copperhead on Ulrey's Run near Bantam last week. The snake measured a yard in length and seven inches in circumference, the eleventh reported this year in the locality. The season continues past frost.

Painters Fall From Scaffold at Terrace Park

Two painters H. L. Wheeler of Cincinnati and John Miller of Mulberry were working on a building at Terrace Park when a scaffold hook gave way. Wheeler clung to a window sill to escape. Miller was thrown to the ground, suffering cuts bruises and a broken arm.

Mexican veterans meet at Clermont fall regimental reunion

A gathering is planned in Clermont this fall for Mexican veterans linked to regimental reunions. All county soldiers and sailors who served in Mexico are asked to reply by postal card with name address company and regiment to M Jamieson Batavia. About thirty men are expected for muster.

Suit for 5000 Defamation Damages Against Gen Heath

J H Pollock of Loveland sues Gen Thomas T Heath for 5000 damages claiming defamation over rumors about his fiancée.
