Giant CG&E boiler drum arrives for Beckford unit
The CG&E Walter C Beckford Station receives the massive 205000 pound boiler drum, built by Combustion Engineering and Cha Engineering in Chattanooga. Rail shipped to Miami Fort, then barge to the Beckford site. When commissioned in late 1962, the fifth unit will raise capacity to 765000 kilowatts.

Williamsburg Receives 46920 Federal Sewer Funds
Representative William H. Harsha Jr. announced that Williamsburg has been granted 46920 in federal funds to finance a new sewer collection system and treatment plant. The project totals 595850 with about 549000 to be raised locally. site purchase for the treatment plant is planned between North Front and North 2nd Streets. County offices will close Friday and Saturday for the county fair.

Two Arrested In Raid On Don's Tavern
James Haney age 40 owner of Don's Tavern at 301 Front St. and his wife Mildred age 36 were arrested in a raid Friday at 3 pm. They face charges of failing to purchase a $50 wagering stamp and violating state liquor laws for permitting gambling on the premises. Bond set at $500 each for a hearing before U.S. Commissioner Charles C. Ebel. Investigators from the State Department of Liquor Control assisted the IRS agents.

County commissioners agreed to pay 3125 the village of New Richmond owes for radio service with 1250 paid immediately and the balance within three months.
