The Merchants and Farmers Bank of Owensville Clermont County Ohio notes its role in the Great Annual Clermont County Fair. President cashier J L Marsh, active for almost twenty years, will retire in September 1928. The bank transacts general banking, loans on securities, and interest on time deposits.
The Batavia Oil Company unveils a new well equipped filling and supply station on a scientific plan, with Saint Clair products promoted as best on the market. Under the management of Mr. G. W. Gregg the service is praised as real and true, inviting all to try their offerings.

The Public Utilities Commission at Columbus ruled that OC G P R R may implement the revised timetable proposed for August 1st, delayed earlier due to commuter protests. The commission found evidence the railroad aims to serve the community by reducing loss making passenger service, with freight and mail operations profitable, and officials believed new passenger service would become self sustaining.

Chas Siebert, a farmer on the C P Griffith farm near Batavia, lost three milch cows last Thursday after nitrate of soda was mistaken for salt. The cattle had free access to the fertilizer in the barnyard. three cows ate it, two died in five hours, one survived two days, and a fourth showed no signs of illness. The nitrate resembled salt and is a strong fertilizer. Cows were valued at $125 each. the Seibert family is noted as prominent East Fork farmers.
Four landowners have sold rights of way for the New Richmond to Hamilton county line section of the A P highway. Kate E. Jones and Helen Reed Turnbull each receive five dollars, Grace E. Match five dollars, and Cincinnati B. and L. Co. five dollars. Work proceeds with expectations of no further delays. completion will connect the route to Portsmouth and ensure uninterrupted travel.
The Owensville County Fair promises a grand event with well cared for horses, complete departments, orderly grounds, and ample dining and seating. Organizers urge attendance and good weather, to ensure a successful and memorable county fair for all.
At Clermont County Religious Training Camp campers were divided into four tribes Mingo Miami Ottawa and Chippawa. Mingos won the Four Fold Shield for top overall scores and records. Photographer VonKorff Bethel donated three pictures as awards for top all round campers. Helen Connor Williamsburg won first prize Julia Glover Amelia second Nellie Russell Amelia and Eleanor Ireton Williamsburg tied for third each received a picture.
East Hill Farm Club met at Mrs. C. E. Reynolds home on Thursday August 4 with eleven members and guests. A program featured papers and readings by Mrs. Cover Mrs. Buerkle Mrs. Barker and Mrs. Bushbacker. Guests included Mrs. J J H Dixon of Wichita Kansas Miss Selmeyer of Cincinnati and Miss Ethel Davidson. Watermelon refreshments were served. Meeting adjourned to meet with Mrs. Barker on September 8. Mr. and Mrs H H DeFrates host visitors Mrs J H Dixon and son John Henry of Wichita.
Raleigh breeder Longview Farms presents Springdale Stock Farm’s Greg Foxie in his first Ohio appearance at Owensville this week. The Raleigh grandson of Flora's Queen's Raleigh, known as the Wonder Sire, will be for sale through Mrs. W. L. Dean & Sons along with other offerings.
