Cake Walk fundraiser by Clermont county ladies at City Hall

Two dozen couples, dressed for the dance, compete with male escorts while Allen Glancy and local artists provide readings and songs. In Batavia last Saturday the Democratic delegates and alternates were chosen for the State and congressional conventions. Numerous listed delegates from Amelia, Goshen, Ohio, and surrounding areas attended. No congressional alternates were picked. Love land hosts the congressional convention on August 30. A missionary tea at the Presbyterian parsonage followed by a tea and wafers. Local leaders discuss establishing a shoe factory to employ about fifty workers, contingent on sufficient inducements and suitable machinery.

Zanesville, Muskingum County’s capital, numbered about 30,000, with tile factories employing 2,000 and encastic tiling plants shipping worldwide. Mrs Amanda Moyer of Hamlet Dies After Long Illness
Amanda Moyer wife of Frank Moyer of Hamlet died at her home Sunday afternoon after three years of cancer related sufferings with a brief remission last year. She endured painful operation yet hoped for cure but the disease returned more aggressively. She was beloved in the countryside and by her husband who stood beside her. She was youngest daughter of the late Charles Robinson and was buried from Union Chapel Tuesday at 11 oclock in a large county funeral.
