A cyclone-like storm struck Milford last Wednesday at 5 pm, wrecking multiple homes including James Strickland’s and Philip Kuhn’s, ripping roofs, flooding interiors, and derailing carriages. A nearby fire destroyed H Bauer’s Mt Carmel home from a defective flue, with no injuries reported.

Young Columbus man sells fruit trees then buys peaches here
About a year after posing as A. J. Lehman from Columbus the same man returned with a companion to buy peaches near Loveland. He claimed no money but would pay by checker or by express after receiving funds. He bought fruit from Mr. Bullock Charles Lefever and Mrs. Weyand, shipped it to Columbus, and later a $17 check he cashed for Wallace Brock, Jr. was dishonored. Brock notified Columbus authorities.
