Clermont County Fair Opens August 18 With Week of Attractions
The 110th Clermont County Fair in Owensville runs five days starting August 18 at 10 a.m. Highlights include Western Saddle Club Horse Show, Air Force Band concert, multiple horse shows, racing programs, Rotroff International All-Girl Auto Thrill Show, Junior Fair judging, 4H Steer sale, grand parade, and board elections at the treasurer’s office between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Junior Fair Judges Named at Clermont County Fair Rabbit Show
The Clermont County Fair features a rabbit show with 200 head expected from Ohio Kentucky and Indiana. Grand champions and winners may advance to the National Convention in Buffalo New York in October. Trophy prizes funded by local businessmen will be awarded to 4 H members and Clermont County Youth Rabbit Club members. The show is judged by Vern Ashton of Lima Ohio with trophies displayed for five days.

Premiums and Awards for the Jr Fair Totals 2930
Junior Fair premiums and special awards total 2 930 this year with extra prizes for the 4 H Division. Kroger trophies will be given for dairy beef and swine showmanship. Dick Hanah Memorial trophy goes to the best Hereford project. Kroger platters honor winners in flower and vegetable gardening and clothing. Various breed associations provide trophies and ribbons for nutrition demos. The Junior Fair includes departments such as H Cbbs vocational agriculture home economics Boy Scouts Girl Scouts. Senior Fair Board members oversee the Junior Fair.

Library Lease Signed For Batavia Walk-In Facility
The Clermont County Public Library Board signed a 10 year lease for a new walk in library to be built by Batavia businessman Harry Kahle. The building will rise at Third and Broadway Batavia with construction set to begin in September.

De La Palma Road Hearing Slated for Sept 8
A public hearing is set for 10 am on Tuesday Sept 8 at Batavia courthouse on the De La Palma Road project in Williamsburg. The plan includes a new railway bridge with costs shared by the county state and Norfolk and Western Railway.

The County Fair flower and plant exhibit is coordinated by Clarence Ungelham with Williamsburg Garden Club aide Mrs H Lytle. All entries must be garden grown and not commercially provided. Ribbons reward two age based arrangements, with educational displays by the Williamsburg Garden Club.
