New Richmond Regatta Set for Sunday Afternoon

The thirty seventh Greater Cincinnati Regatta will be held at New Richmond at 1 p.m. Sunday August 19 with six classes and more than 75 boats expected to compete. Co sponsored by the village Boat Club and Kiwanis Club, organizers aim to draw up to 10000 spectators after 7000 attended last year.

Cincinnati Realtor Ralph Copenhaver announced the purchase of 80 acres west of Owensville f or division into one to five acre home sites on land formerly owned by the Craver family. Former Batavia Mayor A. Clyde Mundew Dies in Florida

A. Clyde Mundew, former two term mayor of Batavia, died yesterday afternoon at his home in Coral Gables Florida. He had retired years ago but kept ties to Batavia and Clermont County and often wrote letters to The Courier. Funeral services are set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Philbrick Funeral Chapel in Coral Gables Florida.

Alcoholics Anonymous talk at First Methodist Church

Malcomb B. Chandler of Cincinnati will speak at the 9 a.m. service on August 19 at First Methodist Church on Alcoholics and Alcoholics Anonymous. Rev. Wesley Clarke of Batavia Church is away on vacation. Chandler serves as regional director for the National Conference of Christians and Jews and is a Wyoming Presbyterian Church member.

Goshen Educator Leaves for Clermont County Post

Goshen educator L. G. Hause, longtime executive head of Goshen schools, is released to take Clermont County’s first school supervisor position under a new state provision. Salary is $6800 funded by School Foundation funds. Hause is a Wilmington College graduate and Xavier University master’s recipient. He previously taught in Warren County and is noted for promoting public relations in schools.

Countion To Study For Veterinarian

Stanley Grim son of Mr and Mrs H E Grim Rt 8 Batavia will be the only student from southwestern Ohio to enter the College of Veterinary Medicine at Ohio State University this fall. A Milford high school graduate class of 1953 he attended one year at University of Cincinnati before transferring to OSU. He is a member of Sigma Nu fraternity cabinet member of the YMCA and active in the horsemen's club on campus the Boot and Saddle Club.

Clermont County Receives 75 New Liquor Permits

State liquor director William C. Bryant reports Clermont County is allotted 75 permits under a new population based system following a Supreme Court ruling. Openings and applications vary by village with Batavia and Felicity showing limited activity while other areas list numerous openings and several applications.
