Good News Ken to Open Firehouse Chili Parlor

Tom Quallen and Ed Bonett plan a Firehouse Chili Parlor in the United Dairy Farmers complex at Ohio 28 and Goshen Road next to Goshen firehouse. Cincinnati style chili will be offered in two, three, and five alarm versions with gyro sandwiches hot dogs and breakfasts until 11 am. Quallen, a former deputy in charge of corrections, will cook with limited experience, and Bonett is his business partner.

Powell named Clermont County sanitary engineer

Powell 42 will become sanitary engineer Sept. 1 after Reckers retires Aug. 31. Appointed by commissioners McBride and Croswell, the move follows several veteran exits. Powell joined as assistant July 2, 1984, with plans to assume Reckers’ duties in years ahead.

Bonnie Williams Dance Troupe Earns High Honors in NYC

Twelve students from Bonnie Williams Dance Studio won two firsts in Cincinnati regional contests to qualify for the national DEA dance-off. Their classical ballet, placing second at Walders toria, led to a New York trip with four days of classes, a Broadway Cats show, a DEA banquet, and visits to Mama Leoni and Sardi's. The troupe includes Kristy Wilson, J.J. New county offices expand with 15000 square foot addition

Clermont County plans a 15000 square foot addition to the water and sewer district building at Ohio 32 and Bauer Road. The project consolidates building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and water and sewer permits plus the district’s accounting offices. Construction is slated for completion by October 1986 at an estimated cost of 950000, funded from the general fund and water revenues without affecting fees or the county debt limit.
