Commissioners Urge Sheriff To Seek Help From Highway Patrol

County officials urged Sheriff Clyde Dericks to request aid from the State Highway Patrol Post Mt. Carmel for accident investigations. They cited a $5,611 operating funds cut and noted Warren County practice as a precedent while auditors showed about $50,000 less funds than prior certification. Other actions include bridge work finances, electrical code study, and a traffic signal contract with Cincinnati Gas & Electric.

Multiple Sclerosis Benefit Carnival in Amelia

Tom Roth and Johnny Reinert organized a summer carnival to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis foundation. The event on August 8 featured kool-aid and games, with proceeds to be presented on the Skipper Ryle show. West Clermont School Registration Opens Aug 19 23

Amelia registration for students who did not attend West Clermont Schools in the past year runs Aug 19 to 23. New elementary students enroll at neighborhood schools from 9 am to 3 pm Aug 19 23. Junior high and high school registrants go to Amelia or Glen Este from 9 am to 3 pm Aug 19. Citizens are urged to call neighborhood principals with moves.

Cascades toPlay Civic Club Dance on Labor Day

The Cascades will perform at a teen hop sponsored by the Northwest Clermont County Civic Association at Finley Bay Park one mile west of Rt. 28 on Guinea Pike. A preceding softball game pits the Civic association against county officials from 1 to 3 p.m. The dance runs 3 to 6 p.m. The group formed after Milford residents Robert and Ben Kirby won a talent prize, adding Bobby Richards and Bruce Feldman to complete the trio with vocals and bass.

Service Station Robbed of 85 Dollars in Ohio

The Koco lene Service Station at Ohio Pike and Bennett Road was robbed at 4:30 am Wednesday by a man in a silk stocking mask. He demanded money, took $85 from the cash register, ripped a telephone from the wall, and fled with an accomplice waiting in a car on Bennett Road. Ed Bailey reported the description and a gun was used. State and county officers investigated and fingerprint work followed.

Mrs Kennedy to Lead Lexington MYF Assembly

The ninth annual Lexington Conference MYF Assembly will be held at Lincoln Ridge Kentucky in August 1928. Mrs Fannie Kennedy of Batavia conference director of youth work reports that registrations from five of seven states covered have been received. Winifred Smith and Monica Collins will represent Taylor MYF. Mrs Kennedy will serve as dean.

Sen Jones Named To Welfare Group

State Senator Charles H. Jones of Hamilton has been named by House Speaker Rogerson to the 14 member special committee studying major state programs and their financing. The panel will work with the Legislative Service Commission staff through Dec 2 reconvening dates, examining Poor Relief Aid to Blind Aid to Disabled and ADC U.

Williamsburg Development Corp Receives Charter

Harold Seipelt announces Williamsburg Ohio Development Corporation has its charter and aims to raise 33195 by selling shares to fund a new industry. Funds will be loaned to Cincinnati Box and Partition Co as part of a deal with James White to buy Williamsburg Chair Factory Inc. Shares available from listed incorporators and attorney Watson.

Women Injured In Beechmont Wolfangle Crash

Miss Ada Busiman of Forestville is hospitalized at Christ Hospital after an accident at Beechmont and Wolfangle roads on Thursday August 1. She has a broken ankle from a collision involving her ride with Mrs. B T Menke a New Richmond school teacher. Menke sustained only bruises.

Former Official Now In Hospital

MILFORDsianly A. Hill of 916 Center St. is listed in fair condition at Jewish Hospital after eight units of blood were given for internal bleeding. Hill, a former county commissioner and building inspector, returned from a vacation trip and had attended the National Prosecutors Association Convention in Minneapolis.

Cottage Fire Damages Milford Structure

A four room unoccupied summer cottage on US 50 east of Milford was gated by fire at 2 45 a.m Wednesday. Milford Fire Department responded and estimated damage at 4000 dollars. Ownership of the structure was not known at press time.

Man Bags Bobcat Near Amelia on Davis Farm

Bert Davis of 586 Concord Road Amelia killed a 36 inch bobcat on the old Burk Hardt farm after the animal roamed to his porch. Mrs. Davis released dogs to chase it away. the dogs freed the cat but Davis caught and bagged it when he returned from work.
