George W Hulick born Batavia June 29 1833 died August 13 1907 in his 74th year. He practiced law and served as probate judge and congressman. A Presbyterian loyalist he leaves a widow five children two sons survive Ella Marsh his second wife and two sons. Albert Lane 65. Civil War veteran dies after nervous illness
Albert Lane of North street died August 8 1907 in his 65th year. He served in company F 59th Ohio from 1861 to 1864 mustered out at Louisville. A farmer and veteran musician he was renowned for fife calls and battlefield notes. He returned to farming but later faced market losses and a nervous illness that left him unable to work. He was remembered as a brave citizen and good comrade. The government memorialized his service.

Lavina Weaver Ely died Thursday at her home after more than thirty years of invalidism. Born April 16 1926 she was the widow of Rev W R Ely and mother of five, including Mayor FE C Ely. Funeral services were held Friday with Rev Burdeau delivering the sermon. She is buried beside her husband in Union cemetery.
