Batavia Farmer Ends His Life in Sudden Act
Lewis J. Wessel a 70 year old farmer living two miles west of Batavia on Route 74 died by his own hand last Saturday evening. Coroner Sam White ruled the death a suicide with a .32 caliber revolver firing through the right temple. His son Louis discovered the body Sunday morning. He survived by three children including Louis H. of Olive Branch Mrs. Erna Johnston of Indianapolis and Mrs. Florence Duddey of Cincinnati. Funeral services were held at the Moore Funeral Home Batavia and interment was in Vine Street Cemetery Cincinnati.

Dairymen To Meet In Batavia Courthouse This Evening
Dairymen and milk haulers in Clermont County are urged to attend a meeting at the Batavia courthouse tonight at 8 o clock. J H Pollitt says producers are underpaid relative to recent price increases and the gathering aims to unite Clermont county men to press for higher prices. A further meeting is planned at Green Hill on the 25th for the same purpose.

Ohio Youths Dominate National Junior Vegetable Growers Meet
Ohio youths swept major awards at the National Junior Vegetable Growers Association fourth annual convention closing a four day session. Wayne Leimbach won one of three scholarships funded by A and P Tea. other winners were Emerson Hibbard and Louise Mullen.
