The 94th Clermont County Fair will take place at Owensville Fair Grounds August 18 to 21. A four day event features horse shows, racing, variety acts, and extensive agricultural exhibits with 4-H booths and grange participation.
The Speedliners beat Fairmount Starg 9 to 1 on the Airport diamond marking Fairmount’s first loss. Batavia bats collected 13 hits off two pitchers, boosting the Speedliners to 33 runs across three elimination games while opponents have 3. Only eight teams remain. Batavia and Wiley Lumber Co. stand undefeated and must meet next Sunday. The Cincinnati papers will report the venue.

Last Friday evening Mrs. Tidon Erion of Olive Branch reported her husband missing after he did not return for supper. Searchers found 48 year old Elton Erion near the back of the farm where he was driving cattle for evening milking. He worked for the State Highway department as a roadside mower and had a wide local circle of friends. Authorities believe death came from an ailing heart.
One game was played last Sunday as the New Richmond Giants were shut out by Georgetown in Brown County Fair Grounds. The defeat marked the first loss of the elimination for the Giants. The Mt Crab Bethel protest game was postponed due to wet grounds and will be finished around the regular schedule.
