Wandering Wheels Tour Bypasses Batavia on Cross Country Ride

The 12th annual Wandering Wheels tour from Taylor University biked through Batavia at 8 a.m. on their way from San Diego to Rehoboth Beach. Jeffrey Dinnen, Batavia native and son of Rev. and Mrs. Clarence Dinnen, joined the group, which averages about 130 miles daily.

The Courier Staff reports on the Washington audience gathered at the Old Senate Office Building for Watergate hearings. Prospective spectators arrive early, receive numbered tickets, and endure a slow, crowded process to gain admission while the line snakes around the block.

Major 4-H and FFA Steer Sale at Clermont County Fair

More than 100 top quality steers will be exhibited and sold by the Steer Club at the Clermont County Fair. The show is scheduled for Wednesday Aug 15 at 1 p.m and the sale Friday Aug 17 at 1 30 p.m in the Livestock Show Arena. 4 H youth will also exhibit and sell feeder calves born May 1 and May 2 1973 immediately after the steer sale.

124th Clermont County Fair Opens August 14

The Clermont County Fair begins August 14 at 9 a.m. in Owensville with a grand parade, numerous 4H and livestock competitions, and entertainment including harness racing and a demolition derby. Entry fees apply, with grandstand free on most activities.

Mussey Pushes Reservoir Projects Amid Ongoing Debate

State senator William Mussey has led two public meetings to counter opposition to the East Fork and Caesars Creek reservoirs. The projects date to 1938 and 1959 drives by the Little Miami Valley Development Corp., with about 26 million already spent. A federal suit to halt work remains, while Mussey and supporters urge completion for flood control, water conservation, and quality gains.

Arson Suspected In Two Fires At Loveland Area Warehouses

Fires in Clermont County damaged a Totes Inc warehouse on E Kemper Rd in Twightree near Loveland and a barn on Lebanon Rd at 11 40 pm Monday. Loveland Fire Dept and Miamiville assist. losses undetermined.
