Public dedication of the Clermont County Fairgrounds grandstand is set for Monday August 11 at 8 p.m. in Owensville. Milford men bound for grand jury in murder case

Robert Mack of 740 Forest Avenue Milford and Charles W Helton of 5825 Elm Street Mulberry are bound over to the grand jury on a first degree murder charge. Both are held in Hamilton County jail after the victim’s body was found smashed to pieces near the scene and authorities suspect a weapon used in the crime.

Deputy Frank Hutchinson of Owensville died suddenly of a heart attack early Thursday. He served as deputy since March 1, 1946 and led the civil division in Sheriff Don Watson’s office. Richard Carson is promoted to sergeant to fill the vacancy.

Annual Clermont County Fair Opens with Grandstand Dedication

Clermont County fair opens Tuesday with 9 am gates and 10 am grange judging. 4-H horse show at 1 pm, Midwestern Mustang Club, Clermont Clippers entertain at 7:30 pm. Opening day grandstand events are free and the fair runs through Saturday with racing, rodeo, midway games, and fair-board elections.
