Charles Wood 70 a Bethel area farmer died at his home one mile southwest of Bethel Tuesday morning from a heart attack. He had worked in the railroad field before returning to the farm 20 years ago. Hill Slipping Slows Route 74 Hill Work
Workmen cutting Hulick hill beside the Norfolk & Western tracks on Route 74 had cleared a roadbed when a slide occurred Saturday around 3 PM. About 2000 yards of dirt tumbled away and a section of the hill shifted, but no injuries were reported. The Construction Finance Co of Cincinnati had the contract to build the roadway and had been removing dirt for weeks.
