The Eleventh District Democrats met at Hillsboro July 30–31. after a tight, lengthy balloting process for a nominee, no candidate emerged and the convention adjourned with bitter feeling. Committees named, rules set, and a plan for a new convention in Sardinia September 1 was proposed.

Privies at Bantam Fair Sold at Auction

Last Saturday auctioned Bantam fair privileges with M. J. Kain and Archie Tatman buying four groceries for 152 dollars and E. C. Ryland’s ice cream stand with popcorn at 25 dollars. The barber shop sold for 20 dollars and other small privileges brought in about 20 pounds. Baggage room sold to Polk Preston for 18 dollars.
