Hamilton County Republicans Endorse Carmi A Thompson for Governor
In Cincinnati on July 28 the Hamilton County Republican Committee reversed its hands off stance and unanimously endorsed Carmi A. Thompson of Cleveland for the Republican nomination for governor. No action was taken on United States Senatorial endorsement. P W Durr read Harvey C Smith, with 13 votes for Thompson and five for Smith. a motion to make Thompson’s nomination unanimous passed. The Central Committee soon after unanimously approved Thompson’s endorsement.

Wife shoots husband after domestic dispute in Batavia
John Brown, recently moved from West Virginia to South Bantam, was shot through a door by his wife during a confrontation over drink and her 17 year old daughter. Sheriff Rapp and M. Long found Brown intoxicated and jailed. officers seized a 20 gallon still, three whiskey barrels, and many bottles. The woman surrendered with five children nearby. no charges were filed yet. Further investigation is expected.

Tire thieves strike Ford dealer in West Batavia
Auto tire thieves entered A. E. Price's Ford garage in West Batavia by jamming the front door and removed $600 worth of Firestone and Fisk tires. All new tires were stolen. no other items touched. It is the second break in within a year with no clues, no insurance, and no identification.
