Clendenin objects to hotel bills at Cincinnati meeting

Building as Amelia social hub through the years

This Central Tour segment chronicles 41 W. Main St Amelia as a Knights of Pythias erected 1860s building that became Amelia High School’s first gym and graduation hall and a burlesque hall cinema war munitions factory and Farmer's Institute venue. It housed Clark's Family Store and the present elementary school sheltered students 1931–1961. The Barons set a state gym floor record with 48 straight wins.

Wounded man could be robber

Union Township detectives identify Thomas G. Hynes, 39, as a suspect in two J. C. Penney robberies. He was shot four times by Toledo police after a July 29 attempt at the Toledo store, linked to an April 8 Eastgate robbery where $22,500 was stolen. No other injuries reported.
