General B F Coates reports a strong season at Mineral Springs Company with growing visitor numbers each week. The main three story hotel has been repaired painted renovated and refurnished adding ten Western wing rooms. Plans exist to build another large hotel building after the summer season. Old cottages have been refreshed and more are under construction to accommodate rising patronage. Transient guests pay 2 dollars per day or 5 75 to 10 50 per week with children and servants at half price.

Death of Gentleman Marked by Tribe and Travel Career
The man died at Hamilton House last Thursday night around 1 o clock. Born near Wilmington, Clinton County, Ohio, he came to Batavia in 1870 and worked in the Internal Revenue Service under Major J. Tia Penn, later serving as a traveling agent for bridge and iron-fence companies. Survived by his wife and three children, plus two sons, with relatives in Indiana and Cuba, and a Wilmington interment attended by many. His illness left him unconscious from Monday until death. His last hours were affected by pecuniary concerns, and his friends are urged to remember him without judgment.
