ODNR director Donald Smith says the state will not seek new land for the East Fork Lake park near Amelia due to funding gaps. About 190 acres east of the site are desired, needing roughly $209,000 to resume acquisitions, with no immediate funds expected. Local homeowners fear forced sales despite attempts to learn official plans and funding status. Smith notes only purchasing from willing sellers could occur using mixed federal and state funds.
