Bond election set for Clermont Northeastern district
A June 8 special election will ask voters in the Clermont Northeastern local school district to approve a 272000 bond issue and a 2.88 mill levy (outside the 10 mill limit) to fund a new school bus garage land for building sewage disposal works and alterations to existing plants. The levy would be 28.8 cents per 100 of valuation and up to 23 years to repay. A 60 percent yes vote is required.

Legion Post Hosts Open House and May Primary Returns

Pellets Spark Lab Exam After North Route 222 Incident
Pellets fell on the Sirback residence on State Route 222 north of Route 125 and were tested by a Cincinnati lab. Mrs. Sirback said the pellets sizzled on impact. The lab found no bio activity and continues tests to determine composition. Local car owners report pockmarked windshields in Cincinnati and surrounding areas.

Clermont County Schools Committee meets tonight at 8 to hear a special study group report and a plan for district reorganization. Amelia voters cast May 4 ballots at the Huntington home and Hartman’s Drug Store office. Dr. Philip Dobert of Batavia is recalled to active duty and will leave June 15. Dr. Albert Ryan will arrive in Batavia to take over the practice for the duration of the military service and may become partner upon Dobert’s return. Dr. Ryan currently serves as resident physician at Christ Hospital Cincinnati. his wife June is a nurse.
