Clermont County Breaks Ground On Wielding Site And Grants Memorial

Ground was broken Monday for Clermont County project work at the Benton Road site with Ken Wolver as architect. A dedication for U S Grant Memorial Park in Bethel is set for Sunday April 30 at 1230 PM with plaques for Obed Denham Jesse Root Grant U S Grant and Ralph F Homan. Memorial events include Lyle Faulkner’s Fife and Drum Corps and flag ceremonies. Congressman Harsha announced a 2676000 FHA loan for a central Warren Clermont Brown Counties water system serving 1475 homes farms and institutions. plan includes 125 miles of mains wells and a treatment plant with E Ray Fearing president of the water corporation. State will spend 155460 on road repairs linked to I 275 material hauls. eight routes receive patches. Clermont County to pave 121.31 miles at 586840 this year. Appalachian Highway terminal point near Williamsburg under study with no construction date. Milford bridge project funded by Issue No 1 includes widening Wolfpen Pleasant Hill Amelia Olive Branch roads to 24 feet. some design work already submitted. County hopes projects start next year.

Grant Sesquicentennial Film To Be Shot In Three Towns

A 16 mm color sound film of U S Grant Sesquicentennial activities in Point Pleasant Bethel and Georgetown will be made for the First National Bank of Bethel and the Bethel Building and Loan. Carlton M Day bank president says a news photographer will shoot it and sponsors will keep it for historical purposes with a second print loaned to local organizations. The film should be ready for lending in about 90 days.

VD Epidemic Problem Meeting Topic at Clermont Bank

A community program on the VD epidemic among teens will be held on May 4 at 7 30 p m in the Clermont National Bank Community Room Milford. Speakers include Dr Arnold Leff Cincinnati Health Department, Donald Clark Health Education Assistant, and Mrs Doris Sidwell Clermont County Board of Health. The event seeks early detection and treatment with bank cooperation.

Village Council approved selling the old police cruiser that has been replaced by a new vehicle. Mayor Donald G. Hiler said the car will be sold at auction at 10 a.m. Saturday April 29.

Clermont County Polls Open Tuesday for 34768 Voters

Clermont County voters head to the polls on Tuesday April 27 1972 for county offices and races for Congress and the Ohio General Assembly. The Republican ticket shows no opposition for delegates to the national convention pledged to Nixon. In the first district two McCloskey delegates face competition near Loveland. Democratic voters choose their presidential candidate from Humphrey Jackson McCarthy Muskie and McGovern.

Medical Grant Approved for Ohio Valley Regional Program

Congressman William H. Harsha announced a 1 153 497 grant to the Ohio Valley Regional Medical Program covering Adams Brown Clermont Highland and Scioto counties in a four state area. The program aims to improve diagnosis treatment and care for about 6 million residents in the Ohio Valley Region focusing on cancer stroke heart and kidney disease.

Wimmer to Speak at Clermont Trustees Dinner

Ed Wimmer founder of Forward America and former columnist will address the 21st annual Clermont County Township Trustees and Clerks Association dinner May 4 at Plantation Hall Mt. Repose.
