In Cedron Brown county a young boy about 8 or 9 years old, son of Trip Lanham, shot Mamie Kiskadden about 14, killing her instantly. The incident occurred as children played at the Kiskadden home when the Lansham boy picked up a double barrel shotgun and fired. Police deem the shooting accidental and family grief is profound.

E B Armacost delivering the class address Subject Ideal One Man Power Diplomas of genuine sheep skin will be presented by Armacost Car service to Bethel and way points after the exercises.
The Williamsburg Methodist Episcopal Sunday school honored C. H. McNutt with a silver loving cup for a quarter century of faithful service as superintendent. Rev. Compton delivered the presentation speech praising his dedication and the school’s esteem, promising lasting regard in years ahead.
M J Swing of Bethel aged 80 died at noon Monday at his daughter Mrs W H Banister’s home. A well known Clermont County resident and longtime marksman, he was a regular at shooting contests. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 2 50 p m in Bethel M E church.
Sorrow fills Mr and Mrs Sam Sprague Olive Branch over the death of their infant son born last Saturday. The family mourns the loss Tuesday morning.
The ninety first anniversary of the I O O F founding by Odd Fellows of Hill district Goshen was a pleasure filled event with many members wives and families present. A splendid dinner delighted all and the program heightened the pleasant occasion. Next year the celebration will be held at Marathon.
A Batavia Military Band project outlines five entertainments for next winter. Tickets at 1.00 for adults and 0.50 for children will be sold in advance to guarantee success. Reserved seats allow season-long occupancy. The Interstate Lyceum Bureau will bring acts such as The Parenian Concert Company and The Flora Opera Company, all high quality.

The grand jury met Monday and adjourned Tuesday without indicting A. C. Aulick on murder charges and he was released. Indictments named William Lindsey and Calos Wardlow for rape, Ben Williams for stealing money, Albert Prickett for failure to provide for minor children, Arch House for keeping a gambling room and allowing gaming on premises.
The Boston High School commencement will be held tomorrow evening with residents of the village and nearby areas invited to attend. The class consists of three members.
The Mayme DeRussell Company presented their pictures that talk at town hall on Thursday Friday and Saturday nights last week with strong patronage. Audiences praised the entertainment and the Russells are billed for Mt Crab for three nights this week.
Secretary of State Thompson ruled sheriffs lack authority to issue proclamations for the May primary election as the new law makes no provision. The attorney general affirmed the view last fall. State accounting examiners note sheriffs issued proclamations last fall and warn the public that such notices are not legally authorized. The public is presumed aware of the law with no formal reminder possible.
A 12 inning baseball game at New Richmond between Amelia High and New Richmond High ended tied 9 to 9 as darkness halted play. The teams were evenly matched and a fair crowd observed the contest.
