The Texas City explosion touched Clermont County as Gloria Jean and Gene Parrish, grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ludlow, were visiting relatives in the area. Their aunt Charlotte Parrish aided by airfield efforts in Galveston and drove to Texas City to rescue the children. Erickson Wins Jury Case in Clermont County Suit
Clarence Erickson won a $350 judgment against John O. Dudley in a Clermont County Common Pleas Court jury trial. The suit stemmed from a October 1946 accident on Route 14 when Dudley’s Ford sedan struck a parked Erickson car and trailer driven by Russell Brown near Robert Dorsey’s home.

Two Robbery Suspects Captured After Ohio Manhunt
Denver Hook aged 26 of Hillsboro and Glenn Tumbleson aged 34 of Chile were captured after a two hour chase from the Dan Claypool residence. Officers recovered about 200 dollars worth of merchandise believed stolen from the Hillsboro Farm Bureau and drove the suspects to Hillsboro for investigation.
