Plans are being formulated for Batavia's 100th anniversary of the town layout to be observed with a home-coming week in August. Committees include P. F. Jamieson as chairman and E. O. Lease as secretary, with A. B. Nichols treasurer and others. The Business Men's Club executive committee has named a Chautauqua team for Batavia in early September, with a meeting set for April 28 to finalize organization.

Foundry Discovers Loaded Shell Hidden in Scrap Metal
Gus Wilke owner of the Batavia foundry bought a carload of scrap iron in Cincinnati last week. While filling the cupola workers found a two pound loaded shell cast into scrap. A hole was bored into the shell by K Moyer to pour the powder.

Behind the Bars: Trickster Potter Held on Fraud Bond
