Clermont Industrial Parks, Inc. must clear planning reviews before federal loan guarantees for the New Town Grant Park project. County Planning Commission and County Commissioners will evaluate, then the Ohio Kentucky Indiana Regional Planning Authority before federal approval.

Taylor Named As Clermont Bank Director

The Clermont National Bank of Milford announces the election of F. Keith Taylor to its Board of Directors effective April 8. Taylor is president of Ames Mining Company and holds multiple director roles including Logan & Kanawha Coal Company and Chelsea Hanover Corporation. Lambert Home Destroyed By Fire

The home of Richard L. Lambert Jr. at 999 Seminole Trail burned Monday evening with the family escaping unharmed. Estimated loss to property and belongings runs from 10 000 to 15 000 dollars. The fire began when a lawn mower ignited while Lambert repaired it in the garage.

Funeral services were held Sunday April 13 at Smith Funeral Home Branchester for Army Sp 4 Charles Robert Cunningham 23 son of Mr and Mrs Charles W Tal Clough Pike He died in Viet Nam March 31 from injuries after the truck he rode in struck a field mine He was an assistant squad leader with an engineering unit A Amelia High School graduate he entered the Army in February 1968 and had been in Viet Nam since last September He previously worked for LeBlond Machine Tool Co Cincinnati He leaves his parents a son Timothy 4 a brother Roger and grandparents Mr and Mrs Frank Cunningham of Wilmington and Mr Ralph Dewey

Batavia Raises Parking Meter Courtesy Fine

Batavia will raise the courtesy overtime parking fine from 25 to 50 cents starting Monday. Meters operate 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except holidays and Sunday, with a 24 hour payment window and contact to police for meter issues. Chronic violators may be ticketed and towed if not paid or attended.

Batavia moves toward a resolution of intent to annex territory from Olive Branch to Judd Road and along the East Fork river, aiming to include Clermont Industrial Parks holdings and extending the village limits around the airport area. Area Student Earns FAA Pilot License

Cadet Major Thomas L. Thompson of Batavia has earned a private pilot license after completing FAA requirements. He soloed in the fall, logged 35 flight hours, and passed the FAA written and check flight, with AFROTC wings earned last fall. He is in Miami University’s AFROTC program and Arnold Air Society, and plans active duty with the Air Force.

Commissioners call for bids to repair the concrete abutment of the McKeever Road bridge over East Fork at Williamsburg village line. Salute To Youth Planned Friday in Bethel Area

A county wide Salute to Youth event is set for Friday April 18 at 7 30 pm at Bethel Tate High School Bethel with WLW TV star Bob Braun as master spokesman of Teens for Decency of Southern Ohio.
