Plans Move Forward On MGS Extension To School Site

County commissioners hire Barbeau Construction Management Batavia to draft plans for extending the MGS system to the Clermont Northeastern Elementary School site. The project along US 50 from Owensville to Hutchinson carries a 4000 planning fee. Bid adverts begin soon as possible.

Juvenile Traffic Offenders Face Teenage Jury

On April 16 a new method for handling juvenile traffic offenders will be tried. Twenty jurors from Clermont high schools will determine guilt or innocence and mete out penalties. Juvenile Judge Orville Hal bisch will instruct the jurors and ensure their wishes are carried out with Officer Mike Keeley presenting facts.

Reno Seeks 6th District Seat With Local Democrats

Ottie W. Reno Democratic candidate addressed the Goshen Township Democratic Club Tuesday and announced April engagements. He will attend Union Township meeting April 19 at Williamsville Tabasco Park and speak at Clermont County pre primary dinner April 25 at Milford American Legion Hall. Reno, an attorney in Pike County, is in his third term as county recorder and previously served on the Scioto Valley Board of Education, including a 1965 presidency. He lives on a Pike County farm with wife Janet and children Ottie Wayne and Jennifer.

Batavia Counselor Accepted To UC Guidance Seminar

Mrs. Mary K. Branch, Batavia High School guidance counselor, was accepted to the University of Cincinnati's 1966 Summer Vocational Guidance Seminar. The two week program runs June 20 to July with 3 graduate quarter credits for attendees, emphasizing vocational planning and guidance.

GOP Candidates Speak Tonight in Batavia Ohio

County committee backs plan for Clermont community college

A Clermont County committee urged the board of county commissioners to form a community college district and appoint a board of trustees. After a Lorain County Community College visit, the group promotes low tuition, a state charter, state aid, and a local levy to fund a two year school in the area. The plan includes surveys, consultants, and a firm to assess local educational needs.

Humane Society Plans Hire To Run County Pound

Clermont County humane society will hire a poundkeeper humane agent to operate the county pound instead of leasing it to commissioners. The move follows advice from J W Justice. a committee led by Mrs James Neil will prepare a proposal for the county. Jim Begley has resigned as humane agent.

Batavia Council Seeks Bid On Meadowbrook Sewer Project

Batavia Council will accept bids until May 16 to install a sewer on Meadowbrook Drive in West Batavia. The village will cover part of the cost while the eight property owners on the street pay the remainder by assessment at four percent interest.

A Bethel committee led by Mayor O H Sharp seeks a 40 000 square foot wool processing plant with Clasgens Woolen Mills owner Joseph Clasgens promising to remodel the old shoe factory to create up to 150 jobs at about 500 000 dollars with potential federal financing.
