Ohio Bus Line to take over Milford to Cincinnati service

Ohio Bus Line Inc will assume Cincinnati to Milford bus service from the Cin cinnati Street Railway Co within about two months. Milford council heard Morris Edwards say the change aims to route outside Cincinnati limits amid losses. The Ohio Bus Line plans continued Milford schedules with a new evening bus, new fare rates, and a Government Square Milford terminal pending Public Utilities Commission approval.

Blue Cross Open Membership Period Ends April 15

The Blue Cross Open Membership Period ends on Saturday April 15 announced by Hospital Care Corporation. Applications must be mailed by midnight Saturday and are available at banks drug stores or this newspaper. The offer to join is available to residents or workers in southwestern Ohio and may not be repeated for at least a year.

Amelia Seeks to Buy Water Rights from New Richmond

At an open meeting in New Richmond village council discussed selling water to Amelia due to a 40 percent surplus. Four Amelia officials and two Board of Public Affairs members urged approval with engineers to report by April 1. If approved the line could run along two roads serving Mt. Pisgah Lindale and Hamlet at an estimated cost of $200000, with New Richmond paying and Amelia building its own filter plant if denied.

Clermont Scouts Plan Pilgrimage to Georgetown

The Boy Scouts of Brown and Clermont Counties will replace the Pt. Pleasant site with Georgetown for their Grant pilgrimage on April 30. Grandson A S Grant III will deliver the principal address at the old Georgetown schoolhouse, with two Scouts featured on the program. Tentative events include a camp at Georgetown Fair Grounds, a large campfire led by Richard Lodwick, church attendance, a parade, a dedicatory service, and ceremonies at the grandstand.

Batavia Man Receives $100 Fine for DUI

Batavia Mayor J. C. Paschal fined Joseph B. Moore Route 2 Batavia one hundred dollars with seventy five suspended and license surrendered for six months after Moore pled guilty to operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Moore's car crashed into two other vehicles driven by W. C. Louderback Willowville and Henry K. Smith Batavia. Police Chief Hardl onel arrested him.

Clough Residents May Get New Bus Line

Clough residents may obtain a new bus line if a $6000 backing is raised. The proposed 12 mile route would run from Center ville Road to the Beechmont levee with Fuller Motor Delivery Service ready to operate. At a March 26 meeting, over half the required token amount was pledged.

Sailors Overturn Car On Route 50

Three sailors traveling from their base overturned a car on Route 50. All escaped injury and were taken for treatment at Our Lady of the Lake Mariemont before continuing by train. Milford Patrolman Joe Winter investigated the crash. the vehicle was demolished.

Bethel attorney Paul Biffle will speak at the third annual Clermont County Home Demonstration Achievement Day on Wednesday April 19. The County Home Council plans a review of the year and next year’s program with an educational and entertaining program starting at 10 am followed by lunch. Withamsville Girl Narrowly Escapes Injury by Auto

Patricia Horton five year old child of Mr and Mrs Cahall playing in front of her home in Withamsville ran into the path of a car driven by Walter Saile of Bethel Route 1. He swerved the auto into a ditch to avoid striking her. The girl escaped injury.

Newtown Man Trapped Inside Overturned Truck

George Schlechty age 44 of Newtown was trapped in the cab of his truck after a collision with a car in downtown Cincinnati. Another truck driven by 19 year old Percy White struck the vehicle. police freed Schlechty in ten minutes. White cited for reckless driving. no injuries reported.
