Fire destroys Campbell flour mill in New Richmond
Fire last week destroyed the old Campbell flour mill in New Richmond now used by John Win spear as storage and sales space. Flour and feed losses reach $15 000 with $6 000 insured. Origin unknown. Adjoining Sam West property badly heated. firemen and citizens saved it. The mill was among the oldest on the Ohio River.

Fishing License Proposal Signals Statewide Revenue Plan

Indicted New Richmond Man Sentenced to Columbus Penitentiary
Alex Curtis of New Richmond pleaded guilty to grand larceny before Judge Joseph after a last grand jury indictment. Sheriff J. B. Rapp took him to the Ohio penitentiary in Columbus Friday for an indeterminate sentence of one to fifteen years. Curtis had prior local court appearances and the prosecutor Britton moved swiftly, with only days passing from indictment to incarceration.

Grape Growers Urged to Watch for Beetle This Season
Ohio Experiment Station entomology warns grape growers to expect a large brood of grape vine flea beetle after substantial damage last year. The beetle is a small dark steel blue insect under one-fifth inch long that feeds on grape bud contents. A spray of arsenate of lead or powder in water, plus a drop of soap per gallon, will control it when applied before buds open. If spraying isn’t available, beetles can be shaken into a dripping pan with kerosene and water.
