Clermont County Day at Coney Island on May 15 will be hosted by The Courier and Clermont Sun. Guests receive park admission for two cents tax with coupons plus two strips of 10 ride tickets for 40 cents. Fireworks are planned and details will be published next week.

Safety adviser urges attendance at state meet

Safety adviser W. Bogert of Ohio Division of Safety and Hygiene promotes the All Ohio Safety Congress and Exhibit at the Neil House Columbus April 12 13 14. The congress expects record attendance with daily sessions and over twenty section meetings to address industrial hazards and accident prevention.

Homer M Kain Dies After Long Illness

Homer M Kain aged 80 died at home on Main Street Batavia after a long illness. He was survived by his wife Belle Homan Kain and three children Ralph Ruth and Harriett Wimbish, plus a brother Walter Kain. a lifelong Batavia resident.

Twelve Teams Sign Up For Clermont County League

The Clermont County Baseball League met in the Court House with twelve teams applying for membership for the coming season. Entering teams include Batavia Mt. Carmel Williamsburg Bethel Goshen Amelia New Richmond Owensville Loveland Williams Corner Salt Air and Blanchester. Opening date is Sunday May 1 at 2 30 pm with Queen City umpires as arbiters. League officers are Earle B. Kincaid president Harold Nichols vice president and Stanley Anstaett secretary treasurer. The protest board remains the same.

Clermont County Commissioners authorize Engineer Carl Rush to prepare plans and estimates for ditching grading and stone on Behymer Road Locust Corner to White Oak and White Oak to Merwin Ten Mile Road. Aged Man Kills Self With Shotgun

George William Robbins 18 took his own life Tuesday by discharging a single shotgun blast into his heart. He lived alone in a trailer near Fruit Ridge Road between Moscow and Pt Isabel. Robbins had done odd jobs for Ralph Houser and neighbors. Deputy Hutchinson and Coroner Skeen found the body after noon. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p m at Monroe Funeral Home Milford with burial in Bloom Rose Cemetery. Survived by brother Sam Robbins Mulberry son Ralph Cincinnati and two daughters Mildred Kahn Madisonville and Cecilia Blaker Covington Ky.

A Clermont County softball meeting at the Oasis Club Amelia gathered representatives from Amelia Batavia Williamsville New Richmond Owensville Bethel Felicity Mt Carmel and Willowville to form two county wide leagues a fast pitch and a slow pitch. Milford Drive In Theatre Plans Face Zoning Hurdles

Milford authorities say they lack power to curb a proposed outdoor theatre on a tract between Route 50 and Route 28 east of the village. The site lies outside Milford’s corporate limits, leaving planning commission jurisdiction in question, with annexation seen as the path to village control. The 750 car capacity project by Milford Amusement Co. would place entrances on Route 28 and feature developments on Route 50.
