A Sunday tornado swept through the southern Clermont County area near Bethel causing severe damage. Mrs. Hoekman’s home collapsed trapping a resident, while barns owned by Otto Albrecht Chas Bauer and Well Brooks lost roofs. The Poplar church cupola was torn away and foundations shifted. Damage run high with trees snapped and orchards ruined, though other areas escaped. Thousands of dollars in losses recorded as residents sought shelter.
