Effective April 1 the Clermont Publishing Co sold its stock and equipment to H M Tucker who has edited the Clermont Courier the past three weeks. He plans to continue the paper in its new format, enlarging and improving the Courier. Tucker, a 20 year publisher with Middle West experience, remains committed to the paper’s high ideals and Republican editorial stance.

Local health news includes Mrs My ers regaining health and Mrs Percy McAdams suffering an index finger amputation. Also noted are visits and travels among parishioners including trips to Cincinnati and New York with various family updates.
Special church service at Belfast Church on Easter night at 8 honors community servicemen and their families. Guest speaker is Mrs. Maude Anderson of Goshen. Public invited.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jester of Canton hosted the weekend with Emerson Jester. Mrs. Joseph Innis died at home last Sunday. Sympathy extended to the family. Sunday guests at George Perry’s home included Chris Reinhardt Buryl Graham Ralph Smith and Henry White. Ida Daugherty spent Monday with J W Strickland. W K Billings of Wilmington visited the Strickland family. Henry Moyer visiting daughter in Brookville Kentucky. H Binning and daughter spent Sunday with Charles Williams and sons Lowell and Marion. Wm Day of Cincinnati spent the week end with Walter Hawke. Mrs Ella Ernst of Perintown visited at the Walter Smith home. Mrs John Frazee entertained her mother Sunday. W S C S will meet at Mrs Edwards home on April 19. Wm Clark and family moved into the Howard Moffatt home. Mr and Mrs Gilbert McMurchy of Norwood spent Sunday with his parents and he leaves for service on April 7. Mrs Philip King passed away last week. former Nicholasville resident. Archie McMurchy teaches at Fincastle and attended the Brown County Teachers meeting at Fayetteville last Monday night. Lowell Jackson left for overseas. Rice Bolender and family visited his mother at Moscow who is quite sick. Mrs Corbit Young and daughter Mrs Elmer Smith visited relatives in Columbus last Sunday.
Les Walker of Goshen Ohio is listed among five Republican candidates for the May Primary for Sheriff of Clermont County. He visited Batavia on Monday meeting old friends and soliciting support. Walker placed second in the 1940 Primary when the same number of candidates ran.
Mayor Munden of Batavia, chairman, announced the Clermont County Red Cross Drive surpassed three hundred dollars on the official check. He thanked all contributors and tireless workers for making the drive a standout success.
The Clermont County Tuberculosis and Health Association will hold its Annual Meeting Tuesday evening, April 11, at 8 o'clock in the Court House. Reports on the 1943 Seal Sale and other program items will be presented. Officers will be elected and all officers, committee members, and those interested in Clermont County tuberculosis work are urged to attend.

Families from Kennedy Heights Newport Kentucky and Kessler Field Mississippi join relatives for a Sunday gathering. Pvt Virgil Bickel cadet status and transfer noted.
The Bata via Grange postpones its next meeting to April 13 due to other activities on the regular night. The third and fourth degrees will be conferred. Donations for the County Home shower are still welcome and refreshments will follow the meeting.
