Easter Egg Hunt to Be Held by Legion and Courier
Batavia area youngsters ages 5 to 10 will search for 1000 Easter eggs at the American Legion post grounds Saturday after noon. The event is sponsored by Frank W. Weaver Post American Legion and The Courier in cooperation with Batavia area past. Eggs, many numbered for prizes, will be hidden by Legionnaires in three age divisions. Tots under four stay in the Legion hall basement with candy treats. Spectators may watch from designated areas. Local prize donors include Smith Radio and TV, Krogers, Jolly Sams, Spaulding's Market, Rosenzweigs, Cann Ford, Danbury's Cafe, Determan's Restaurant, Auxier Gas, The Clermont Courier, Main Delicatessen, Tudor Chevrolet, Pride, Larkin Insurance, Reliable Finance, Liming's Clermont Inn, Blocher's Pharmacy, Anstaett Dodge, City Loan, Western Auto, Bob and Don's Shell, Green Valley, Lewis Distributing, and many others listed.

Bethel village approves a 40 year water pact with Tate Monroe Water System for 60 000 gallons daily in 1970 rising by 10 000 gallons annually to 110 000 after five years with up to 220 000 gallons available on demand from 1975. McCleese appeals prison term in VFW Post armed robbery
Carl McCleese 33 of Georgetown filed an appeal from a 10 to 25 year sentence for armed robbery of the Afton VFW Post last summer.
