Junior Henderson Victim of Hit-Skip Autoist

George Harrison Henderson Jr. 20, of Batavia died in Bethesda hospital Cincinnati after a hit-and-run crash on Montgomery and Gailbrath Roads. He was en route to work at Wright Aero in Lockland with companions. The unidentified car struck and fled, injuring several occupants. Henderson died from internal injuries, with funeral held at Batavia cemetery.

Clermont County Survey Tracks Farm Labor and machinery

The Clermont County Agricultural War Board led by BE C Saxton conducts a survey of the county to gauge current farm labor availability and the amount of machinery for custom work next year. Committeemen in each township will collect data from neighbors, with a county summary later, and inventories of combines binders silage gear threshers balers and tractors will be filed at Batavia offices for emergency use.

Postoffice Moves To New Location In Batavia

Batavia post office relocated Tuesday from Hamilton Ridg on Main Street to the Courthouse annex in the former County Relief Office quarters. Officials modernized the interior, improving appearance. Moving began late Tuesday afternoon with mail delivery uninterrupted on Wednesday morning.

Services were held Tuesday at 2 30 from Craver funeral home in Milford for W Clark Runyan 75 retired school teacher who died late Saturday. Surplus Wheat Available to Clermont Farmers

Clermont County farmers access surplus wheat via Commodity Credit Corporation plans converting wheat into meat. Six carloads of about 7 000 bushels of number 2 hard winter wheat from the western territory shipped to Clermont. The Clermont County Farm Bureau Cooperative Association handles the wheat at Williamsburg with price under 33 dollars a ton at the car, bags scarce due to burlap shortage. The coop will deliver to farms at five cents per hundred weight. unloading and warehouse storage may raise price. This action stabilizes the feed market and encourages higher production.
