Five Injured In Huron Street Traffic Mishap
Five people were injured in an automobile collision on Huron Street near Lawrence Street at 8 p.m. yesterday. Mr and Mrs Paul Novak and their 17 month old son from Annis Road South Amherst, and Mr and Mrs Elmer Balog of South Amherst were treated at Elyria Memorial Hospital and released. Novak said his car, traveling about 45 miles an hour, struck Balog’s left rear as Balog swung out to turn onto Lawrence Street. Balog’s driver’s door opened and he fell out with burns on arms and legs while Margaret Balog suffered a head bruise and neck sprain. The Novaks and baby sustained forehead lacerations, abrasions, a slight concussion, and windshield impact injuries. Police noted extensive damage to Novak’s front end.
