Outpatient Surgery Safe and Cheaper Says Report
The Journal of the American Medical Association reports outpatient surgery can be as safe as hospital care. Dr. Herbert Natof notes 13,433 procedures at Northwest Surgicare show low complications, no deaths, and cost savings from avoiding hospital stays.

Lorainite gets five year sentence on five firearm counts
Federal Judge Frank J Battisti gave Gonzalez five years on each of five counts to be served concurrently. He was convicted Aug 19 by a federal jury. The case linked a .375 Magnum to the negligent homicide of Victor Cruz, 22, of Lorain, shot in Gonzalez’s apartment two years earlier. Gonzalez had prior state sentence for negligent homicide and faces another tax-evasion trial for 1975-76.
