First successful separation of Siamese twins Linda and Brenda McCall
Linda and Brenda McCall, born March 8 and joined at the sternum, were separated in a 14 or 15 hour operation by 15 surgeons at North Shore University Hospital Payson Whitney Tower. Doctors say the girls, born four weeks prematurely in Nassau County, share no organs and should lead normal lives though the stomachs and intestines could slip between them. The parents praise the outcome as the twins rest apart but prefer to be together.

City settles Maxwell death suit for 17500
Mrs Zora Maxwell accepted an out of court settlement of 17500 from the city of Elyria over her son Darry Maxwell's 1975 shooting death by a police officer.
