John Bowser, 76, of 555 Lodi Street, was in poor condition at St. Joseph Hospital Lorain after a collision with a car driven by John Lukasko, 35, at the Sheffield French Creek Road Abbe Road intersection. Bowser and his wife were thrown from the vehicle. Lukasko reported Bowser did not yield.

Lorain Man Is Sentenced For Manslaughter
Felix Santiago Rodriguez, 26, of 1651 East 30th Street Lorain, was sentenced by Judge John D Pinura to an indeterminate term of one to 20 years in the penitentiary after pleading guilty to manslaughter in a July 11 shooting that prosecutors had charged as second degree murder. Russia Wants Big 5 Meeting
A Beech Bonanza four passenger plane owned by Manufacturers and Fabricators Inc. damaged at Elyria Airport when it struck a fence post on landing injuring no one. Manslaughter Trial Of Pennsylvania Trucker Opens In Court Here
Judge John D. Pincura heard testimony in the traffic manslaughter trial of William Kenneth Newland 39 of New Castle Pennsylvania. The accident on Route 18 near Wellington killed Walter Bring Sr and Josephine Bring as their car was struck by a jackknifed trailer. Newland waived trial by jury and faced questions about weaving and speeding that witnesses said preceded the crash. He testified he slowed to avoid a faster car, then the truck went out of control. He had a suspended license for DUI at the time and previously served jail time in both counties. The Hancock Trucking Co of Indianapolis leased the truck.
