Elyria resident Rob Stipe known as Big R says security ejected him during Sundays Browns game for standing too much amid a friendly crowd. He notes prior enforcement and a policy that bans excessive standing at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
In Elyria an Elyria woman Toni Duncan 49 choked a 71 year old Walmart greeter and her daughter Ashley Jackson 21 threatened to blow up the store. Duncan pleaded no contest to assault and faces up to six months in jail at Thursday sentencing by Judge Lisa Locke Graves. Jackson was convicted of persistent disorderly conduct and could receive up to 30 days in jail at sentencing.
Lorain Schools chief information officer Gary Brantley is leaving to become DeKalb County Schools CIO in Georgia. Brantley, four years in Lorain, previously led technology for Ohio Department of Aging. Cheryl Atkinson, Lorain’s communications head, had recommended him. she notes the DeKalb board approved the appointments.

Lorain County residents not registered must sign up by Oct 11 to vote in November. The Lorain County Board of Elections runs 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and extended hours to 9 p.m. on Oct 11. Registration also offered at Job and Family Services, Health District, libraries, community college, high schools, vocational schools, and Ohio BMV offices. Candidates must be US citizens 18 by Nov 8, Ohio resident 30 days before election, not incarcerated for a felony, not declared incompetent, and not disenfranchised for election-law violations.
Avon Lake suspends through traffic on Inwood Boulevard Dellwood and Bellaire for about three weeks to connect three sanitary sewers at Redwood Boulevard. Detour routes use Redwood Boulevard Moorewood Avenue and Durrell Avenue.
