Guileless Gran Foils Bank Robbery in Whittier

A 25 year old would be robber parked at Crocker Citizens Bank in Whittier California. He left his keys in the ignition and told a teller he had a gun seeking cash. An elderly woman noticed the car keys, followed him into the bank, and scolded him about potential car theft. He fled after she confronted him.

Vermilion man charged with counterfeit $20 notes

Robert L. Horvath 37 of Vermilion appeared before U.S. Commissioner Clifford Bruce charged with possession of counterfeit $20 notes and plates. A $10,000 surety bond was posted. hearing date to be set next week. Horvath remains in Cuyahoga County Jail after arrest in the Holiday Inn parking lot in Elyria. The case stems from a January investigation ending in the seizure of counterfeiting equipment and an attempted sale to a secret service agent. Horvath is son of Louis Horvath, killed in a June robbery at a family store. his mother Hazel Horvath continues to operate the store.

A Lorain man, 54, Elmer Eulehar of 3511 Clifton Ave., died after a one car crash three miles north of LaGrange on Rt 301. Kulchar, 50, and Mole, 17, involved. car hit a tree after leaving the road. Black River queen crowned by sister’s willed pledge

Connie Wagner, Homecoming Queen in 1966, willed her crown to sister Lynn. Lynn, now a senior, was named queen as Pirates beat Western Reserve on campus. The ceremony included a dance at the high school with escort Robert Simcox and Paul Pomeroy. Lynn Krueck is daughter of Harold and wife.
