Warsaw Sept 28 Polish cavalry operating behind retreating Bolshevik forces in Grodno region reached a point north of Lida. Prosecuting Attorney Guy Findley secured the first conviction at this term as jurors found William Newell of Oberlin guilty of grand larceny. Newell and companion Arthur Peabody allegedly took Henry Thieman’s automobile for a joy ride. Thieman nearly was struck during the chase and the car wrecked in the escape attempt. Arthur Peabody faces trial today for the same offense.
