Auto kills Eaton boy as he walks bicycle

Two North Eaton children Walking bicycles along Rt 252 were struck by a southbound car just south of Rt 303. Lee Huff 8 was killed and Morgan Hensley 9 was seriously injured. James Hensley 10 was not harmed. Driver Thomas Pearce 27 said he saw the children as he crested the hill and tried to avoid them. Speed limit 50 mph. No citations issued.

Repeal Petition Push Advances In Ohio Ballot Fight

Secretary of State Ted W. Brown certified 10 000 supplemental petitions to place an income tax repeal on the November 7 ballot. Rep. Robert E. Netzley said 40 000 to 100 000 more signatures are hoped for during a 10 day grace period starting tomorrow. Courts in 34 counties weigh protests as repeal backers seek 318 414 valid signatures and plan to file supplemental petitions October 6. Lorain County boards will advertise the repeal as required, while other counties face ongoing legal scrutiny.

Nixon and U S Back UN on International Terrorism
