Welfare Levy To Go On Elyria Ballot This Fall
Elyria council at a special meeting unanimously approved submitting a welfare levy to voters in the November election. The two year levy would raise about 42 000 annually, with state aid covering roughly one third. If approved the money funds the city relief load now costing about 4 800 monthly, keeping total annual relief near 38 400.
