Hurricane Roars Into Florida Kills Three Near Berlin Heights
Three young men died and a fourth was seriously injured when their car crashed into a concrete bridge on Route 113 at Route 61 west of Berlin Heights. The dead were John Boone 26 R D 1 Berlin Heights James Martin 20 Berlin Heights and Alfred Sedlock R D 2 Huron. Dale Nottke 20 Berlin Heights was in fair condition at Sandusky Memorial Hospital. State Highway Patrol said high speed loss of control caused the crash. three were thrown into a 15 foot embankment as the auto struck the bridge railing. Nottke with the U S Navy is home on leave. The Bay Bridge Barracks of the patrol are investigating.

Former Director Of County Home Dies In Florida
Reuben B. Baus, 73, longtime Lorain County Home superintendent, died at 9 p.m. Friday in Eustis Florida. He had been ill since October in Elyria. Born July 17, 1880 in Amherst township, he belonged to the First Methodist church, King Solomon Masonic Lodge and Elyria Elks. Surviving are a daughter Janet Ruth Laurance of Largo Florida two grandsons Patrick and Robert and a sister Ella Fowell of Grafton. His wife Gertrude preceded him in death. Funeral arrangements by Sudro Curtis Funeral Home will be announced later.

Plane Falls Into Sandusky Bay
The Army L-19 two seat airplane piloted by First Lieut Robert C. Miller of the Ohio National Guard fell into Sandusky Bay about 300 feet off shore late Friday. Miller was atop the near submerged craft when rescued by state patrolman Filson Ellicot aboard a patrol boat. The aircraft is to be raised today by a derrick.

Train Derailed Near Norwalk Injures Two
A Nickel Plate four car freight train derailed near Norwalk, overturning the locomotive and first ten cars. Conductor C W Shroyer of Massillon and an unidentified itinerant were treated for minor injuries. The train, about 30 mph, struck an object on the tracks but remained undamaged overall. Two overturned cars were tankers with flammable chemicals. Wrecking crews from Bellevue and Brewster were summoned to right cars and clear the line.
