Arlington Burial Honors Fighter Colonel Warren Hardenbergh
United Press remembers Colonel Warren Hardenbergh 91, a South American war veteran and Spanish-American War naval veteran, buried at Arlington. The colorful, stubborn friend enjoyed coffee with the writer, feared rats and misfiring lighters, once chased a rodent with a rifle, and dreamed of a baseball career at Rutgers before quitting on a cigars for a rule infraction. He recalled meeting Harry S. Truman at inauguration, praising fighters as the morning began.
