Teachers agree to arbitration in Jackson Milton dispute
North Jackson Ohio AP teachers who struck the Jackson Milton district on September 7 returned to classes after agreeing to arbitration. The Milton Jackson school board and the Jackson Milton Educators Association chose arbitrator Robert Stein of Akron. No date is set. Superintendent Warne Palmer expects a month to six weeks for a decision. The union, part of the Ohio Federation of Teachers, said the process satisfies both sides without concessions. The strike followed a rejected three year contract with a one year extension offering a 1 percent raise now and 2 percent later.
