Damiya Bridge Crosses Between Israel and Jordan Still Open
Israeli and Jordanian troops guard the border crossing at Damiya Bridge linking the occupied West Bank with Jordan. Arabs travel daily to Amman and other Arab destinations, with security checks and summer visitor schemes in place. Exports from the West Bank via the bridges reach over 14 million Israeli pounds in April to June 1969, while imports from Jordan total about 6.2 million. Dayan affirms an open bridges policy despite regional tensions.
